Run, Hide, Fight

This video was produced by the city of Houston, TX, with a grant from DHS. I've seen several references to it in the news and though it was posted only two weeks ago it has already generated lots of comments (and video responses on YouTube) both 'for' and 'against.' Personally, I think it is a well done, responsible video that simply acknowledges the reality of our world and discusses the three primary options available to someone caught in such a traumatic situation.

    1. My pleasure! It's a heck of a thing to have to think about such issues but we live in the world we do, eh? Dixie and I still remember 2001-2002 where we all had to deal with the uncertainty of possible additional terrorist attacks (following 9/11), the anthrax letters, and the "beltway sniper" all in the span of a few months. At the risk of seeming morbid, when incidents like Aurora, Wisconsin, or Columbine occur they dominate headlines for a while and seem so unique in their tragedy. Unfortunately, they aren't so uncommon as we would hope. For examples see:,, and "Forewarned is forearmed."
